About Finch Hatton Gorge Cabins

Experience a restful change in natural lowland riverine rainforest. Finch Hatton Gorge Cabins is in a secluded valley off Pioneer Valley, 80 km west of Mackay Queensland.

Each self-contained holiday cabin has air conditioning, full cooking facilities and is fully screened. Linen is provided in cabins. There is no T.V. or Mobile phone reception in the Gorge, a perfect place to get away from it all.
The covered B.B.Q area overlooking a spring fed creek is a great place for socialising or you can find a quiet spot by the creek to relax. B.B.Q utensils and gas are provided.

The area is home to many birds and animals, Bush Turkey, Brolga, Azure kingfisher, Eungella honeyeater, Monitor lizard, Wallaby, Platypus, Possum and Flying fox to name a few. Ulysses’ and Birdwing butterflies flit by regularly.
Finch Hatton Gorge Cabins is only 1.5km from Forest Flying www.forestflying.com and Eungella National Park, where you will find deep swimming holes and well maintained walking tracks.

The town of Finch Hatton, 10 km away, has all the services you would expect in a small town, from a pub to post office and general store with eftpos, hardware store and newsagency. The three Hotels in the area Eungella Chalet 25mins, Finch Hatton Criterion 10 mins, Pinnacle Hotel 15 mins have dining rooms and each do takeaway meals as well. The Criterion has a ATM, the others have eftpos.

When leaving Mackay head west on the Peakdowns Hwy untill you see the signs before the town of Walkerston directing you to the Pioneer Valley via the Eungella road. Follow this road untill you see the Finch Hatton Gorge National Park signs directing you to your right. If you reach the town of Finch Hatton you have just missed the turn off, head back to Gargett Loop rd. Cross the Highams bridge, then take the next road to your left, Gorge Rd. Follow this road all the way to the National park, we are 7.16 km from the Gargett loop road and Gorge road intersection, and 1.5km from the park. After the next cement causeway 1.5km of the road is dirt with cement causeway water crossings accessible by conventional vehicles, when you have travelled this you will be on sealed road again and at our entrance.
