"If you're looking for something to do on a Tuesday night then this is the place to be, especially during the warmer months. The crowd is good looking and you tend to run into a lot of people who work in the hospitality industry as well as the younger crowd. The beer garden is very popular during summer and you'll have to get there early if you want to get in. Sometimes during the summer months you will see a massive line up outside. On weekends they host a lot of functions such as weddings and birthday parties so you will find a wider variety of people or age groups during this time. " (more)

"My experience with The Highway is that the staffs are very well trained and they are very service oriented. Order something from the bar and they talk to you like you are a good friend. Have a meal in the bistro and you will find that they are very attentive to your needs without being overbearing. They also tend to hold lots of weird and quirky functions like movie nights, UFC fight screenings, karaoke and single bingo so they are very willing to accommodate people with a wide range of tastes. They are also very responsive to complaints and not like one of those places that ignores you if you have a problem. They are also very tech savvy, last time I was there I got a free drink for checking into Foursquare. They have got all bases covered like good food, great service, interesting events, ridiculously good looking patrons and a nice and friendly atmosphere. " (more)

"I love this place on a Friday night, the retro music is a bit hit and there are always lots of cute girls and it's not too crowded so you don't have to worry about lining up to get in. There are two huge couches which are basically like beds. There is a beer garden at the back and some tables and chairs outside the front for the smokers. The Union also has a restaurant although I cannot comment on the food because I have never eaten there. The bar is also quite accessible, not one of those places where you have to wait for hours to get served. If you are looking for a place to go on a Friday night with a nice vibe, lots of eye candy but not too busy then this place is worth checking out. " (more)

"I had the lamb and it was great. I suggest, you order a serve of baked potatoes if you've got a bit of an appetite. " (more)

"Totally recommend especially for functions like the Melbourne Cup. My wife and I had very enjoyable time at Roulettes Tavern. We booked in for the Melbourne Cup lunch and were treated with the utmost of decency. Our meals were served promptly, hot and very delicious. The deal on offer was outstanding, like their service. The beer was cold and the staff were plentiful in numbers. We are already prepared to book again for next year. " (more)
