I bought my modem from Austin computers in Rockingham and the asian guy I was dealing with sold me a...n inferior item that sells have the price elsewhere. I should've done more research prior. I went there for my son's monitor soon after cause he wanted to purchase it there and it was a different guy and out of curiosity asked about the same modem and he said he would give it to me for $69.00. I told him, the asian guy just sold it to me for $80. Strange way making business in a small community like Rockingham. Lesson learned and never going back there.

$25 per hour did seem rather cheap, but I got this person's contact through my local paper. My compu...ter wouldn't switch on, so was obviously a hardware issue. I decided if it's out of his league, he could at least advise me of what I can do next. He unscrewed my computer and with no further exploration told me the power supply and most likely the motherboard would need replacing...that the only salvageable thing is the hard drive. He sold me a disk caddy for $100 and put my hard drive into it.and left. It didn't switch on. I tried immediately to phone his (advertised 24/7) number but a child answered and before I could speak, told me to call later and hung up. This happened twice. Third time I interrupted the child and left my details, but did not receive call back. I managed to subsequently contact him and arrange a replacement which he did bring round. It took about five phonecalls and four days to get that replacement. In the meantime I googled the product which has no model or serial number. It's a Welland caddy and can be bought online for around $30. While I would expect a markup for time and effort, I consider 200%+ to be rather excessive. I also googled his business name and came upon this site. Should've come here first! $125 for this lesson. Incidentally, he is located over 35km from where I live. I wonder why he doesn't restrict work to a shorter radius. When I go to the local paper I am looking for local businesses only. My $125 lesson has also taught me to enquire about WHERE the business is located, so it's more accessible. Part 3 of my $125 lesson is to make sure I see something is up and running and working before the person leaves. I did so with the delivery of replacement. My computer is now in a reputable workshop. I do not need to buy a whole new system, and far more than just the hard drive is salvageable. I gave one star only because I cannot post these comments without at least one star. I'd rather give none.

Not impressed at all. Went to assist my mum as computer was slow. Added apps onto her iphone (not ev...en why he was there!) then he changed the password on her modem / wifi connection to his own mobile number but did not tell he had changed. Then said he never changed password, only after speaking to her ISP and they said looks like has been changed did he admit to changing it. She never asked for him to change it and even worse he changed it to his own number and didn't let her know. I haven't met him but I have told her to NEVER use him again!! I have no idea what other things he has done to her computer. Next time I will ensure she uses a good IT support company.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I have paid $150 to Microworld for what I was told was... the full version of Kaspersky internet security package. 3 months later I am given notification that my trial version has expired and if I want further protection then I must purchase the full version. I have contacted John 3 times now to question this and he is busy but will call back....he doesn't!! I won't be using them again.
