Our practice has been established in Carnegie for 25 years; we know Carnegie and Carnegie folk well.
Our optometrists Daniel Duldig and Clare Campitelli have over 50 years of optometric experience between them.
We intend to be looking after the eyes of Carnegie for at least 25 more years to come; as such we can:
-Monitor your eye health over time
-Monitor the visual development of your child over time
-Get to know your eyes, your visual system and you, so that you can receive the best individualized care and service.
We are independent and as such will source the best products - frame and lenses for our clients. We are not limited to the range carried by a chain outlet.
Our spectacle frames are of the highest quality
We guarantee these frames against damage for a full two years from the date of purchase - we will even cover accidents such as sitting on them (not that we expect you to do that!)
We hand pick our frame range - and constantly refresh our range to ensure that we carry the latest styles. We have a broad range , from gorgeous designer frames which will give your face a 'wow' factor, to budget options. bright plastics and metals and 'barely there' rimless. We have small frames for little babies and a cool kids range. Teenagers love the Nike, Jag and Pepe Jeans ranges. the adult frames are too many to list here, but we cater for the generous and the more petite in size - we love matching our lovely frames with equally lovely faces. We are more than happy to assist you in choosing the right frame for you.
Our spectacle lenses of choice are also of the highest optical quality. We choose:
- Latest technology progressive designs that give widest areas of clarity with minimal distortion.
- High index and aspheric lenses to reduce distortion and lens thickness.
-Feather light polycarbonate lenses for maximum strength and comfort.
-Premium anti reflective coatings which will repel rather than attract dirt and smudges
-Optifog coatings to eliminate annoying fog on cold or sweaty days.
We also provide the latest in contact lens designs and materials.
Contact lens wearers are automatically members of our contact lens club which carries benefits such as discounts when lenses are ordered in bulk.
The health of your eyes is so important. We will conduct a full assessment of eye health from the front of the eye to the back. Early detection is so important in conditions such as cataract, retinal detachment, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. We look for these and many other eye conditions to ensure that your vision is not just optimised but also preserved.
We are able to photograph your retina during the eye examination. 3D (stereoscopic) optic disc photos ( a gold standard in early glaucoma detection) can also be recorded.
We specialise in behavioral optometry at our practice.
Clare Campitelli has practiced behavioural optometry since 1998, receiving the highest qualification in behavioural optometry available in Australia - her fellowship in behavioral optometry -in 2008.
This specialty looks at:
-Problems with visual efficiency - resulting in visual processing and learning difficulties
-Problems with visual processing - resulting in leaning difficulty
-Vision as it relates to awareness of visual space, gross motor coordination, balance and posture.
-Vision and stress.
-Vision and brain development.
We provide vision therapy that is tailored to the person's specific visual needs.
We will also:
-Provide free minor repairs and adjustments and cleaning to glasses
-Work closely with local doctors and ophthalmologists
-Do our best to get it if we haven't got it.
-Provide free postage on contact lens deliveries to home for most orders.
-Greet you with a smile. (more)
Clare Campitelli obtained her fellowship in behavioural optometry in 2008. Behavioural optometry looks at the whole person rather than just the eyeballs. It investigates the impact that vision is having on learning. it also looks at visual development and the impact that spatial awareness, motor coordination and stress may be having on vision.
Children with learning difficulties will often benefit from behavioural optometry assessment. Some children will have very good 'eyesight', but may be struggling to focus, track or point their eyes when reading or writing. Others may have trouble processing visual information - ie remembering, recognising or analysing what is seen. These problems can impact significantly on learning. Such difficulties once detected, can be assisted in some cases through glasses, tints, or vision therapy. Other times changes in habit - such as incorporating more sport into the routine - can be sufficient.
