Below is some information about plumbing in general:

LEAKING PIPES

Signs of slow - small leaks:
- Water oozing out of one place (obvious)
- running along a pipe for some distance & appearing somewhere entirely different
- mouldy areas, or areas that simply look or smell damp.

It's just as important to check the integrity of other structures that have been subjected to damp for a period of time (floorboards or walls, for example) as it is to repair actual leaks. Such items may have seriously rotted & therefore need replacing.

BLOCKED DRAINS

Armed with our electric eel, we can remove most blockages from drains & storm water pipes. If the blockage is more substantial then digging and replacing pipes may be required (eg: if pipes are broken).

GAS FITTING & REPAIRS TO GAS SYSTEMS

Upgrade existing gas systems, or install new pipe work and commission, this includes gas stoves, ovens and gas hot water systems. If you believe you may have a gas leak TURN OFF ALL GAS & call our Emergency Number, we will come out urgently to repair your gas ensuring that you & your home are safe.

RAIN WATER TANKS

Why not use that free rain water from your roof? We can easily hook up new pipework, including pumps & automated sprinklers - you name it, we can do it!

HOT WATER TANK ISSUES?

Is your hot water system giving your grief? Is it keeping up? Is its running cost too costly? There are a number of things to consider when debating what to do with your hot water system.

Perhaps you don't have the right system for your needs or there's a fault with your system or related plumbing.

Is your tank large enough for your needs?

There are the obvious - that your usage outweighs the tanks capacity, indicators are:

Your dishes are not properly cleaned by the dishwasher (unless it's the dishwasher itself)

Your nice hot shower runs cold or cools rapidly

You have to wait forever for your shower to get hot (the solution to this could simply be moving the hot water system closer to your water point).

Does it Simply Require Fixing?

Certain signs, such as leaks near the hot water tank, hot water that is not clean or that runs more slowly than usual, or improper heating that is not a result of a too small a system can mean a problem with your tank.

Many problems with hot water tanks are quite easily fixed, if you suspect a problem with your hot water system, contact us and we will assess, discuss and/or show you the problem and if it's required, we will repair your system - if on the other hand it is beyond repair, we can discuss with you whether you wish to replace the tank with the same or similar system, or opt for a solar, gas or heat pump system which are extremely cost effective. Keep in mind, Electric Hot Water Systems are set to be banned within the next 3 to 5 years.
