At restaurant toshia, it's not about "out with the old and in with the new". Owner Toshiya mixes traditional style Japanese with a little something new to keep things fresh. Staying on topic with "fresh", all the produce that we use here is far from boring as Toshiya visits the fish markets every morning to select a range of fish to use for an exciting menu. All other ingredients are selected depending on seasonal quality and availability.
What makes our restaurant different from other restaurants is how picky we are about the small things that makes the difference between good and amazing. We have things like home made soy sauce and "nama" (fresh) wasabi for those who want to mix it up.
We also have gluten free and vegetarian menu options, but if you could let us know you're after these options when you book, we can alter more dishes so no one misses out on having a choice.
We use a different type of "sushizu" (sushi vinegar) to other restaurants. The vinegar we use is "akazu" which is made from "sak kasu". Sak kasu is the remaining rice particles left after the sak has been extracted from the rice. By using this vinegar, the rice will have a rich, mellow taste which will leave you wanting more.
The daily changing specials menu is something we hope our guest look forward to seeing when visiting us. We keep it simple but different day by day. So whether it be for a birthday, an anniversary or for just a nice night out, we look forward to your visit here in Cremorne. (more)
