What is a StartLocal Featured Listing?
StartLocal Featured Listings are a highly targeted advertising vehicle that works hard for your local business to gain the maximum exposure for your prospective customers, helping to drive more enquiries and sales for your business. Featured listings appear at the top and to the right of actual business results and are targeted to the keywords, categories and to the locations of your customers. Featured listings are an additional listing for your business.
How Will a Featured Listing Increase my Exposure?
There are 3 different precision targeting options for featured listings.
- Keywords: select up to ten relevant keywords for your business
- Categories: select up to 3 categories that are relevant for your business
- Location targeting: choose between local (5-50 km radius from your location) and entire regions.
Your featured listing is an additional listing that will appear in the sponsored results in both the categories and keywords for the locations you select. Unlike a free listing, it will stand out above actual business results, so you don't have to worry about being buried by your competitors.

The costs start from 65 cents a day and vary depending upon your targeting options. You can refer to the prices listed on step 2 of the ‘add your business form’ or within the ‘upgrade your listing’ option available via ‘my account’ once you have logged in to the site.

What will my Featured Listing look like?
There is a live ad preview tool available on step 2 of the add your business form or within the upgrade your listing option within your account.
Can I change my Featured Listing?
You can change your ad at any time. Simply login to your account and edit your featured listing. Changes to featured listings typically take 1-2 business days to be approved before going live.
How can I pay for a Featured Listing?
Currently, StartLocal accepts only VISA and MasterCard type credit cards. (StartLocal also accepts VISA debit cards).
Is There a Minimum Term? How can I cancel my Featured Listing?
StartLocal has no contracts. You are free to cancel or pause your featured listing at any time. You can cancel your ad by writing to featured-listings@startlocal.com.au or by deleting your ad within your login. StartLocal has a minimum one month charge, that is, StartLocal does not refund partial months. StartLocal does also not refund outstanding credits.
When Will I be Billed for my Ad?
Initially you will be billed once your featured listing is approved. Thereafter you will be billed once every 30 days.
Do I have to purchase a Featured Listing to be included in StartLocal?
Absolutely not, StartLocal is 100% committed to providing completely free business listings for any genuine business with a real local presence. We also allow online businesses that are based in Australia (with a real Australian address) and ship products to Australian addresses. This does not include online businesses that do not provide a physical product.
Will I lose my free listing if I cancel my Featured Listing?
No, your free listing will continue to operate as per usual. It is completely your prerogative whether you decide to keep your Featured Listing or just keep your free listing.

What is your refund policy?
StartLocal bills one month in advance and does not provide refunds for change of mind purchase decisions or disruptions to service. StartLocal also does not refund partial month charges. Once you cancel your featured listing, you will not be charged again.
Are there any other fees or charges not mentioned?
Absolutely not, the only charge you will have is for the monthly option you select.
Where Can I Find Information About Security and Privacy Policies?
Billing is done on a 30-day recurring basis. All credit card detail transmission is done via a 128bit SSL certificate and credit card details are secured by our payment gateway provider, eWay (www.eway.com.au). You are welcome to read their privacy policy.
