Fun Math Resources for Grades 6-8

Many students often ask themselves ‘what’s the use of math anyway?’ The probability that students find math boring might be 0.9. If you graph a student’s feelings when they look at a math problem, it might look like a hyperbola. From an algebraic perspective, math is a mix of so many variables, it’s just downright confusing! It seems that math problems from any angle are just troublesome!

To add to the bad news, Math is an unavoidable section in all aptitude tests for universities and offices! Interviewers often throw quick math questions like 484 times 86 and expect you to give the correct answers in a jiffy!

But! Did you know that some of the coolest gadgets you use in your daily life were actually developed by people who love math? Whether it’s the latest video game you’re playing with your friends, texting your classmate using that nifty new mobile phone, or watching that amazing new sci-fi movie on your DVD player… none of these things could have been possible without mathematics!

In fact all professions use mathematics in one way or another. Whether you’re an astronaut or a zoo keeper, an architect or veterinarian, engineer, doctor, or video game developer… you need to have a good understanding of mathematics!

Who says math is all bad news? How was it the first time you tried to ride a bicycle? It was hard right? But after you learnt it well… riding a bike is great fun! It’s the same thing with math. It might take a little time for you to learn how to do it, but once you learn mathematics you’ll begin looking at the whole world in an entirely different way. And you’ll probably feel much smarter and more confident too!

There are millions of online games and resources on the internet that allow you to discover mathematics and perfect it in fun ways!
