In 1994 A-Glaze was applied to the first major international airliner. Since then a huge number of international carriers are on the A-Glaze wash & seal program. including British Airways, Qantas, Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airline and other prestigious airline companies, who between them have in excess of a thousand planes.

Before A-Glaze, a typical airliner's paintwork required refurbishing every 12-18 months. With A Glaze, carriers report paint life on some of their aircraft is approaching five years. For a business jet, that's the equivalent of flying 60 years or more on just one paint job. A-Glaze protects their aircraft against acid rain, snow, salt, industrial fallout, sand, corrosion, oxidation, colour fading and most of all, the sun's harmful ultra violet rays. It also reduces the drag coefficient and thus saves on fuel.

Even Concorde was protected by A-Glaze: At Mach 2.2 the skin temperature of the world's only supersonic airliners soared to a peak temperature of 307' Fahrenheit and thermal expansion caused them to grow up to an astonishing 12 inches longer in flight. A Glaze was re-formulated to cope with the unique stresses produced under these conditions. (more)
