Doggy Dogma are dog training and behaviour consultants servicing Ipswich and the Western Suburbs of Brisbane. We offer group classes and private consultations to dog owners who are wanting to build a relationship of trust, co-operation and mutual respect with their dog.
We focus on easy to use, family friendly, dog training - either as a private consultation or in a class training environment. Our aim is to help you to understand your dog, and your dog to understand you - creating a positive bond. This is achieved by helping you communicate with your dog and giving you, your family and your dog the foundations you need to have a happy, healthy life together.
Private Consultations address concerns about behaviour that are addressing dog owners, we offer two forms of training for one on one consultations - we can help you train your dog, or we can train your dog for you - this option is known as day training and can be an excellent alternative training program to board and train programs. We even give dog owners a special training session to show them how to keep their dog happy and well trained.
We offer group classes including: Family Manners (Basic Obedience); a range of Puppy Classes, for puppies of various ages and abilities including socialisation as well as basic manners; Behaviour Classes that address specific problems such as pulling on the lead or coming when called; and, Fun and Games Classes to help you continue to bond with your dog. Our dog training classes are held in Ipswich at the Ipswich Show Grounds - with both Weekend and Evening Classes so that you can fit training into your busy schedule.
We are aware that you come to dog training to get a better behaved dog but we know that your dog is only half the equation. You as the owner are learning along side your dog. That is why we provide you with the knowledge of why the training works - not just how - and give you the foundations to apply the training to your day-to-day life.
The training we use is called Marker Based Reinforcement Training specifically using a Clicker a form of positive reinforcement training. This style of training is utilised with various wild animals, such as tigers and bears, as well as dolphins and other animals at Marine Parks and Zoos around the world teaching them how to deal with general behaviour, vet check ups, enrichment, as well as performance shows like the ones you may have seen at Sea World.
We can help you take back CONTROL of your life with your dog.
