Drama is a reflection or representation of real life experiences mostly denoting the complexity of life involving love and tragedy. The most popular form of drama is theater or stage drama that originated in classical Greece, which is often a combination of music and dance. Drama has evolved and branched out into many forms such as opera, pantomime, and the modern form of movie and television.
People enrolling in drama classes may also have different purposes and goals.

Most parents prefer to enroll their children in a drama class during the summer vacation to develop their youngsters' confidence and socialization skills. Others enroll their kids with a serious intent to hone the child's talent in acting. Also, there are people who take theater passionately and wanting to take acting as their profession. For those who desire a more adept training, a Bachelor of Arts degree is also offered in universities. Some universities are known to be good in stage performances while some are specialize in movie and television. However, there are quite a few that provide an equal amount of focus on screen acting as it does for theatre.

• Type of class (E.g. Theatre; Screen: Television or Movie; Pantomime; Opera; Musical Theatre, etc.)
• Proficiency Level (E.g. Basic, Advance, Kids, Teens, Adults, etc.)
• Instructor (Professional and well-known actors and directors may charge more expensive tuition compared to experienced theatre enthusiasts.)
• Duration of course / class (Some classes may take longer than others, though there are also short courses that offer more intensive training)
• Season (Most drama companies and organizations hold drama classes during summer vacation which are offered at a discounted price)

In Australia, there are drama / theatre communities and organizations that hold regular trainings. In Western Australia, most groups if not all are under the Independent Theatre Association (Australia) or ITA, which is the umbrella organization for community, amateur and independent theatre organizations.
