RJ’s Health & Fitness specialise in showing you that a healthy, fit, lifestyle can be gained and maintained without the expense of paying for expensive commercial gyms or exotic Personal Training Studios, our studio is the great Australian Outdoors!
We are Outdoor Exercise Specialists, we can show you how to use what is around you, free, to exercise such as parks, waterways, mountains etc
Our specialist programs in group training have been devised by industry professionals, these include:
• Kid-eX – Group Fitness for Children;
• Corp-eX – Group fitness for the Office;
• Group-eX – Group Fun Fitness;
• Senior-eX – Group fitness for the over 50+;
• One on One Personal Training – (with special interest in women’s fitness); and
• Small groups – 2 – 4 friends
In 2008, 21% of children in Queensland were overweight or obese. This means 36000 children were obese and 120000 were overweight. In other states, it was found to be 2-3% higher statistics. This number progressively increased throughout 2009 and is still increasing today!
Childhood obesity often leads to other health complications such as a cause of asthma, sleep apnea, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol can develop over time.
Children with weight problems are more likely to carry the weight into adulthood. As adults, they are more at risk of contracting Type 2 diabetes and some cancers.
RJ’s Health & Fitness have developed a children’s exercise program called Kid-eX to combat the ever-growing concern of childhood obesity!
This program caters individually for children of all ages, in a group environment. Our key focus is on gross and fine motor development (Kid-eX Tots), active play and social development (Kid-eX Juniors) and also team activities, fine motor skill development and co-ordination, plus social interaction (Kid-eX Seniors)
The underpinning common element that is uniquely interwoven throughout all of our Kid-eX programs is the education about nutrition.
At RJ’s Health & Fitness, we understand that we can fight the battle on obesity with a well balanced education program of both active and physical play, and basic nutrition education, planning and implementing our program into a child’s lifestyle, makes children happier with life overall.
Children who are not overweight or obese are less likely to be targeted by bullies, teased, less withdrawn or alienated. Healthy children are more likely to participate in active games and strengthening friendships throughout play.

There are certain things you should be aware of before commencing any program of physical activity. At RJ’s Health & Fitness, we take your health and fitness into consideration and personally ensure the following:
• Where required, contact is made with your Doctor prior to commencing a program to ensure that it is safe for you to proceed with an exercise program.
• We help you set short-term goals rather than long term aims.
• Increased joint range of motion or flexibility.
• We take into account your existing conditions and choose an appropriate activity that you will enjoy.
• We try to exercise in a group setting and in safe areas.
• You will ease steadily into an exercise program by beginning with low intensity, low frequency activity and proceed slowly.
• We set aside a specific time of the day to do your exercise.
• We encourage you to start a regular routine by exercising every other day.
• We will avoid any exercise that hurts.
