27th December 2012, Hello to fellow consumers, This is a review about a piece of jewellery i bo...ught from Blue Spirit, Melbourne CBD store, namely a 18karat white gold necklace/chain about 6 months ago(20/06/2012).The prices were a bit high but the saleswoman was willing to discount from $595 down to $350. I was surprised at that amount of discount so bought it convinced it was a good deal for a good pice of jewellery. Now when I was shopping for the necklace, I "had" told the saleswoman that a pendant would be worn with it so that a necklace if chosen had to be able to accommodate the weight of the pendant as well. Unfortunately only after owning the piece of jewellery for only 6months, it broke last night. I don't work outdoors in any manual labour environment so the chain is often hidden from view and not under any stress or abnormal conditions apart from everyday wear. I immediately brought it back to the store to see if anything could be done. The saleswoman who served me wasn't there today and the manager actually served me. I explained to him what had happened and he just looked at the chain saying it was in bad condition. Apparently it had kinks in the links and due to that, the chain wasn't able to be straightened out either(imagine a slightly curl in a strand of hair). I told him that it is only 6 months old and I only wear it as any normal person does. Not playing sports, or any physical activities and environments that would cause the chain to become like that. I wasn't happy about the situation obviously and he said all they could do was possibly fix the chain where it had broke but it would still be a bit of a lump where it'll be joined again and possibly break again not long after. Hearing that I asked him how much it would cost and he said $25 dollars for each repair. He then looked at the chain more thoroughly through his magnifying eyepiece and said that there were also other points possibly weakened and can break at anytime, so repairing the chain might not be feasible option. I asked if repairing wasn't a good idea then what could I do with the chain? He couldn't really say much except he could send it away to get it repaired but the chain will most likely break at the repair area or some other part in the near future. I wasn't offered any other alternative, maybe a exchange perhaps or part exchange or discount on a new chain? No, I was pretty much told I now owned a piece of rubbish(2 pieces to be exact) and I can decide if I want to have it fixed, even though fixing it won't really fix it anyways because its falling apart at other places along the chain. I don't know what the stores policy is on jewellery, especially when they break on their own, warranties and so forth. He didn't mention it either so I am going to now try and email Blue Spirit HQ, provided there is one, and ask what can be done and a document outlining their policies on warranty, exchanges and refunds. I am very unsatisfied with the service and option offered to me and believe that Blue Spirit sold a badly designed and made piece of jewellery which now they say they are no longer responsible for. It might not be a big deal if it was a $10-$20 chain or something but a free hundred dollars is still a fair bit of money and I would expect that when you spend that amount of money on an item then it should be of reasonable quality if not top quality with the service and guarantee to match the price of the item. I am going to contact the Department for Consumer Affairs and discuss what could be done about this matter and whether Blue Spirit is right or wrong in its actions. I feel at this moment that Blue Spirit has sold an inferior product and now does not want any accountability for it which I think is disgusting. I will not tell people not to shop there because that decision is entirely up to each individual but I do urge anyone who is considering purchasing any item from Blue Spirit to ask clearly what their warranty and refund policy is and look very closely at the item you plan to buy. My opinion is that there are many other places which are cheaper and sell better quality items with better policies and service than what Blue Spirit can ever offer. K. Lai

Tried to exchange a product for something in their catalogue wasted 3 trips going in when they said ...they would have it, the birthday I was shopping for arrived and still nothing! Had to get a voucher and buy present at another jewelers. Very disappointed all round and will never shop here again, neither should you...

Timothy. R I don't usually write up reviews, but I couldn't help myself after visiting this store. H...ouse of Moss definitely gave me the help I needed finding the perfect dress for my wife's birthday. I know my wife's size, and the colour she loves but that's all I had... The ladies at House of Moss spend a good amount of time with me showing me different styles. I walked out about an hour later, with an amazing dress! Thank you ladies for all your time and service! Girls & Guys this store is well worth a visit!
