About High Street Music: Preston

High Street Music was established in 2009 in Preston. Our store's key focus is to assist with a variety of musical needs, including sales, private lessons and repairs. We carry brands such as Fender, Casio, Laney, Strauss, Suzuki, Cort and Hofner, just to name a few, also holding a great range of sheet music and musical accessories. We have private lessons in Banjo, Bass, Guitar, Drums, Piano and Violin. Our repairs on musical instruments range from a basic restring, to a complete re-fret of your instrument; from a faulty output jack to faulty keys on your keyboard.

Together, the owners Peter and Celeste have over thirty years experience in the music industry. Throughout their careers, they have witnessed the joy that has been brought to those who are associated with music in some way. Music is an art-form that can mean many things in people’s lives- it may be a stress release, a way for you to express an emotion, or it may bring family and friends together over a sing-song. They hope to share their expertise in the industry with the local community. Their provision of high-standard music tuition and music retail products will offer local musicians, as well as the young up-and-comers, all the tools they need to master their craft.

Lessons:
Lessons are held on the premises in Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Banjo and Violin. They are half hour, one-on-one lessons and are run in conjunction with a school term. There are no classes during school holidays or public holidays. Students are required to bring their own instrument to each lesson with the exception of drum and piano students. If you do not have access to an instrument, we can provide you with a short hire plan. The teachers are able to assist students from a beginner level right up to someone wanting to fine-tune their playing. The teachers are able to take students through AMEB or ANZCA exams, or for students that are sitting their VCE music in guitar, both Rob and Liz have specialised in this syllabus.
