About

Since opening our first single basement store in Sydney's Pitt Street in 1924, Woolworths has grown into a household name with a presence in almost every metropolitan and regional centre in Australia and New Zealand. We began operating fresh food stores 60 years ago when advances in refrigeration technology revolutionised transport and storage. In 2012 we celebrated our 88th year in the retailing business.

This store is as mean as possible, the cigarette counter is like a ghost town even when staffed by up to 3 workers they just ensure their backs are turned to the customers on the other side of counter and ignore them for as long as humanly possible. The deli has similar problem. They have a million wannabee bow tied managers waltzing around looking officious but none will open another register to clear long customer queues. The reason is they have no PR skills, they don't care whether you live or die waiting and they can't connect that what a customer spends is what pays their wages.
