My experience mirrors Joanne's. Previously I've supported local butchers instead of grabbing bulk me...ats from a supermarket, but with a Woolies directly behind you when at this butcher's counter, you'd expect quality service to sweeten the deal considering the prices are on par! 2kg mince was on special - decided I'd grab some and asked for it to be bagged into 500g lots (as it would be frozen and used for meals) but was told "nah, comes as a 2kg lot". I would've turned around and gone back to Woolies if I hadn't just finished in there! What would've taken 10 seconds and 2c worth of plastic with already bloodied hands became my 5 minute stuff around at home. Ridiculous. Any other butcher I've been to is more than happy to oblige. Sorry mate, if your service doesn't make the grade in this industry that's being taken over by the giants, those monthly rental fees are going to be increasingly harder to justify.

I bought 'fresh' chicken on Tuesday. Went to use it Thursday and it stank. It was rotten, not just... off. Rang and complained and got told by staff member that I should have used it within 24 hours or frozen it as it comes into them, into cold room, then into display. Who knows how old it was when I bought it. I will buy from the butcher from now on. I don't have money to spend on food that self destructs so fast. Staff was very snotty when I complained about the lack of keeping quality. No apology at all let alone offer of replacement. Instead spoken to as if I was simple minded. Who would think that expensive fresh food would not last 48 hours? This is the only store I have bought from where the chicken went rotten, think stinking, as soon as the bag was opened in that time. If you want to risk your families health then buy Chicken from Lenards at the Bundaberg Sugarlands store.
