Winegrowers Direct Australia was born in April 2009 and is a family owned and operated business. Our headquarters are based in the Riverina of New South Wales with our own vineyards existing of over 1500 hectares of premium Australian varietals.

Growers in Australia have generally had limited access to selling and marketing their own Brands and Products. In reality, there are only 2 or 3 major Retailers that have the outlets to market with any substantial ability to take volume. Supplying to Retailers is very demanding and costly for our Growers and Farmers, with growers having to lose money on their cost of goods to enable Retailers to maintain their margins, the growers at all costs need to maintain their position on the shelf - Shelf space buying.

A major proportion of today's brands are owned by the major Chains, supply contracts are sourced from Growers to give the maximum benefits and dollar returns to the Retailers and on occasions least benefits to the growers with no guarantees of supply nor volumes, if you are the cheapest you get the deal!

Marketing spend, volume rebates, onerous payment terms are all part and parcel of selling our goods to the major chains.

Winegrowers Direct was created and built to support our farmers and growers, cutting the Gate Keeper out of the equation enabling us to get our fantastic Wines out direct to the consumer at affordable pricing. We take the margins that the retailers make and give this back to you in savings!

Our aim is to represent, in time all of the struggling Growers and allow them to gain direct access to the consumers providing consumers with exceptional brands and products at fantastic prices.
