Developed and made locally on the Atherton Tablelands, My Habitat presents a range of products for a completely toxin-free home. You don't want to poison the family with pesticides and disinfectants, but you don't need to live with the bugs and germs either.
Try MouldMaster, rapidly gaining a reputation for its ability to control mould and prevent regrowth - and it smells good too!
WebMaster removes cobwebs and prevents new ones. Spiders and insects hate it, but you will love it.
SpringClean cleans toilets, bathrooms and kitchens, leaving a wonderful uplifting scent and no toxic chemicals.
SimpleWash can replace detergents and shampoos with a very simple, gentle wash liquid.
Ambiance air freshener spray is aromatherapy for your home. Essential oils only - no toxic chemicals.
BushBaby is a personal outdoor spray made from traditional essential oils, with aloe vera and glycerine.
Carmellia is pure organic camellia oil (from the same family as tea), used for centuries by Asian women for skin and hair care. Fine tools and weapons like Samurai swords are also treated with camellia oil because of its fineness.
So you can do everything you need to do for your home and your family without using any toxins. My Habitat products are made with only the best pure essential oils, and other natural ingredients like vinegar and a surfactant made from coconuts.
Petrochemicals were only invented in the first half of the twentieth century but they are in so many of the products we use today, and yet they are implicated in very serious health effects, such as cancer, endocrine disorders, infertility, respiratory illness, and much more. In creating My Habitat, I looked into what was in common use before the advent of petrochemicals. Vinegar has a 7,000 year recorded history of use as a cleanser, so we know it's safe and effective. Essential oils have also been used down through the centuries, either as oils and extracts or as fresh herbs and plants, to clean and heal. So these became the basis of the products I wanted to create.
I have spent five years experimenting and refining the formulas to get the best results, and now these products are available for you to use in place of those toxic "mainstream" products.
This is still a very small-scale cottage industry, without the advantage of mass production or economies of scale, so the products cost more than the toxic ones that are produced by the million. (Packaging and freight account for over 90% of the cost of making them.) However, the products are so effective and long-lasting that they don't end up costing you any more, and you will see the benefits in terms of health and wellbeing.
Most of the products come in a 500mL container with a high quality adjustable Canyon sprayer. This is capable of delivering the product exactly where you need it and can cope with the essential oils which would destroy a cheap sprayer. This spray pack can be refilled and re-used many times, and refills are available in 1 Litre, 4 Litre and 20 Litre sizes. SimpleWash is also available in a 200mL foam pump. (more)
