The Maurice Zeffert Home, formerly known as the Perth Jewish Aged Home Society, was opened in 1961 to offer aged care facilities to the Jewish community of Perth, Western Australia.

For over 50 years the Maurice Zeffert Home has cared for the elders of our community, enhancing their quality of life by providing an exceptional standard of service and care.

The Maurice Zeffert Home provides commonwealth-accredited residential and respite care for seniors in a uniquely Jewish and haimish environment. Entry requires assessment by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) to determine the appropriate level of care.

THE STRUCTURE
Toby & Maurice Zeffert Special Care Centre:
Our Special Care Centre accommodates up to 16 residents in a safe and friendly environment equipped and staffed to ensure that people living with dementia are embraced in a culture that allows them to thrive.

Accommodation is provided in single rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The Special Care Centre has its own dining room, lounges and garden areas which are specifically designed to be warm and homely to help create a sense of familiarity and security.

Carl & Sadie Cohen Hostel:
The Hostel provides an assisted living environment whilst promoting an optimum level of independence and an active lifestyle. The Hostel offers individual, low-care accommodation to 35 permanent residents.
There are 35 single rooms with en-suites in five modules or houses each fully equipped with a kosher kitchen (milk), dining room, lounge area and laundry.
The focus of care is on maintenance of independence with assistance provided only where needed. Professional assessments and rehabilitative therapy are provided to assist residents to obtain and maintain maximum independence.

David, Gita & Michael Hoffman Nursing Home:
This facility offers our highest and most complex level of care catering to the physically -dependent or frail-aged residents who require 24 hour nursing care.
There are three modules which accommodate a total of 35 residents, each is fully equipped with laundry, kosher kitchen (milk), family room, lounge and spa bath. There is also a formal dining room which is available for family meals and small parties. Accommodation is offered in either single or shared rooms each with its own en-suite bathroom.

Sir Zelman & Lady Cowan Retirement Village:
The village offers 55 two and three bedroom villa units. Residents of the village are fully independent with the convenience of access to all the facilities of the MZH. An emergency call system is provided.
The ancillary services provided at the Home are available to village residents who are invited to attend shuttle services, concerts, outings and other functions.
The independent units are resident funded and a maintenance fee is payable on occupation. Call reception for an admission pack. All applications are entered onto our waiting list and prioritised in that order.

MEALS:
Meals Delicious nutritional and well balanced Kosher meals are provided at the MZH. Residents enjoy a healthy breakfast and nutritious three-course meals at lunch and dinner. They also enjoy morning and afternoon tea. All meals are served in the Home's various dining rooms.
Special diets are catered for and preferences are taken into consideration.

OUR JEWISH VALUES:
Jewish spiritual and cultural identity and nurturing are an important aspect of our Residents' quality of life, as well as one of the cornerstones of the Maurice Zeffert Home.
The Maurice Zeffert Home is Western Australia's only Jewish aged care facility and is situated in close proximity to the Jewish Centre, Maccabi Grounds, Carmel School and other Jewish facilities.
A broad range of residents' religious needs are met from the Home's provision of wholesome Kosher meals and traditional Jewish food, to the strict observance of Shabbat and the Yom Tovim, celebrated together with families and the community. (more)
