I was given my first camera at the age of 10 and I still have it, crazy I know. I'm a bit ...of a collector or a hoarder as my partner Mark likes to call me. I find importance in little things, they remind me of a time and place in my life and I like that. I think that's why I love photographs so much. These little printed pictures that remind you of that time that still makes you smile.
I embraced the technical process of developing and printing in the darkroom. I went on to spend hours in the darkness at art school and then in my makeshift darkroom at home. It still amazes me how an image can appear on a blank piece of paper right before your eyes. Magic!
Today I photograph mostly weddings and families because this is what I love most.
For me it's all about the laughter, sharing an experience and connection. I love movement and wind in your hair, dancing in the sunlight and cuddles.
Children should be celebrated and loved ones cherished. It is so positive to be surrounded by beautiful, meaningful images everyday.
This is why I love portrait photography. Spending time connecting with families and couples, sharing their joy and laughter. It makes my heart burst creating images that will one day be part of family history and will make someone smile.
