I've come a winding route to wedding photography.
Not so long ago I was a journalist in Southeast Asia. After I made the switch to photography I worked as a photojournalist and as well as shooting for development organisations such as the World Food Programme, Oxfam and Save the Children. I still love this kind of work and do a few assignments a year. My images have appeared on the BBC news website, in The Weekend Australian magazine, Marie Claire, South China Morning Post newspaper and magazine, to name a few. You can see this work at Tom Greenwood Photography.
Since moving to Sydney in late 2009, my focus has shifted a little and I have a successful family portrait business, Sydney Portraits.
I've been a photographer long enough to be aware of my strengths: photojournalism and portraiture. I love capturing the essence of an occasion as well as the ways in which a couple express their feelings for each other. For me a wedding is the perfect opportunity to do this. I feel privileged to do what I love in an environment of love, good cheer and flowing champers! (more)
