I couldn't agree with Anne S more! Appalling service. I received a "fixed price" quote over the phone which turned out to be triple. There's some fairness here - they fitted wastes to a new sink and connected up a dishwasher as well as the requested job of disconnecting an old hotplate and installing a new one. However, at no time did they say, "ah, we'll do this extra stuff and it will cost $xx". They also slammed my choice of tap sets and sink/wastes and complained long and loud about how poor quality everything was. I can only think a competent person would just get on with the job instead of blaming equipment. All this I could just have dismissed as tradie rubbish. However, the older guy cornered me as they "finished" the job, hit me with the triple cost and suggested I pay cash to avoid GST. I said I didn't carry that kind of money on me, so they said they would "escort me to the ATM" to collect it now. Which they did. No invoice and no receipt. Nice one, Mr Tax Man. I shouldn't have complied with this but I felt put on the spot, upset with their behaviour and pretty intimidated by now. Had to get them back twice - gas smell in the kitchen, water under the kitchen sink and the wastes not sealing properly. All of this apparently wasn't their fault either - they had an excuse or something/one to blame for everything. They refused to refund me for the additional wastes I bought (the original ones which were shipped with the sink I took back to the store, who told me the fittings were correct and the bolt needed was shipped with the sink itself rather than the waste - how the heck was I to know this?!). The ones they installed did not seal properly so I would have expected a refund. It turns out the new ones don't either and now they are happy to blame the manufacturer. I would never, ever, ever, EVER use these people again. Also, my dogs hated both of them on sight, while never once growling at any of the other tradies I've had in the house, 'nuff said.

I normally don't bother leaving review for bad service. But this is SO bad I had to make any attempt to warn future customer. First, I had roots in my drainage. Browne came to my house to clear the line using a mechanical snake, charged me $180. Advise me to buy roots poison from Bunnings, which I then did. Next couple months, symptoms reappear and had to call them back.. they did exactly the same thing, charged me $200. Same advice... and well.... PROBLEM CAME BACK IN FEW MONTHS Second, he came to look at a leaking sink. He figure the problem is on the tap.. so he tighten it and seal it. Charged me $80.. then said if problem still there, call him and he will fix it free. Well, problem was still there so I called him back.. this time he found problem is on the side of the sink ceramic mounting and had to seal it... wanted to charge me $80 and I argued! He said this time its different problem, so he charged me $60 instead... and guess what, PROBLEM STILL NOT FIXED So I called different plumber as I had enough with Jim Browne. Plumber fixed the leaking sink for $40. Tighten the hot water pipe AND reseal the ceramic mounting. JOB COMPLETED WITH NO LEAK! I asked him about my first problem and he suggested to replace pipe so it fixed the problem permanently rather than clearing the line as what Browne has been doing... twice! Conclusion... BROWNE is not interested in fixing your problem completely. He wants a repeat business by fixing it a bit at a time. My suggestion, CALL OTHER PLUMBER! Mischa Plumbing (Shahin) is my recommendation. F you BROWNE!
