Instructors of USQ Aiki Jutsu are fully accredited by The Martial Arts Industry Association (MAIA), a peak industry body for martial arts in Australia. MAIA is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission. In addition to passing the strict standards & rigorous trainings of the school (Aiki Ten Shin Sho Kai International), all Aiki Jutsu instructors hold a blue card and are first aid trained.
Aiki Jutsu is a traditional martial art: What is a traditional martial art?
Traditional martial arts training is about, amongst other things, controlling and if possible removing of the ego. The higher up you are in the traditional art, the better you are in managing your ego.
When one has truly reached this level, what is left is the art and there is no need for self promotion. Students come to the school not because of you but because of the art; you become the channel through which the art is transmitted to others. If it is the other way, then you are not teaching the art, you are using it to prop up your ego.
One may be strong and powerful, but if one's heart is in the wrong place; one has failed miserably.
Humility, Honour, Loyalty ...these are some martial values that matter more than techniques, strength; how many black belts one has, how many medals one has won & how many martial styles one has trained in. If one had not spent as much if not more time in training the mind & heart as in physical & technical training, it will show.
What traditional martial arts are really about.
With humility comes enlightenment,
With ego comes humiliation. (more)
