I have been training & teaching the Bujinkan martial arts for the last twenty years and never gave up because each class is unique and I never do anything the same way twice. I see this as the vitality of life and learning. Change, adapt, and move on. It is a principle for both surviving conflict as well as personal development. My classes challenge us to confront many emotions that we usually don't have to deal with day-to-day. The whole body is used in defence so we train to develop the capacity of each joint to move and utilise the bone structure of our skeleton to effectively strike. Training is not limited to a particular style or a particular way of moving. It is quite the opposite, our training liberates you to be able to act how you need to in order to survive. Correct training improves the capacity of the individual. We don't know what situation we may find ourselves in, but if we are aware of what we can handle and our limitations then we can operate more effectively. Defence may entail buying time, acquiring natural weapons, or creating shields if we are unable to control the situation alone.
