Classical wing chun emphasizes a solid foundation based on constant practice of fundamentals. The system consists of 3 hand forms, 2 weapon forms, and 1 wooden dummy form. Wing Chun contains both soft and hard elements (yin & yang). However, development of muscle power and use of brute force is not emphasized. Instead, training is focused on flawless execution of techniques, so that an opponent who is bigger and stronger can be dealt with. Development of internal power (qi gong) is an integral part of the system. Over time, Wing Chun practitioners also benefit from better physical fitness and increased self confidence.
