About
Yoga Chi Gung is a powerful, body friendly system of internal exercises that promotes calmness, clarity of mind, strength and suppleness of body. Yoga Chi Gung acts to resolve stress, both physical and psychological.
Yoga Chi Gung is suitable for all ages and level of fitness.
For thousands of years in the Orient, Internal Exercises have been used to help heal disease, prolong life, integrate the body and mind, resolve stress and cultivate spiritual awareness.

Yoga Chi Gung is a synthesis of aspects of various Chi Gung and Yoga systems, drawing on practices from Tibet, Japan, India and China. It has also been influenced by research and studies in "Awareness Through Movement," Pilates, the Alexander Technique, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Tibetan and Japanese Reiki.

Barbara was born in Switzerland where she qualified and worked as a registered nurse, before heading off on her trip around the world. She immigrated to Australia at the age of 25 and made Brisbane her home. She lives in Fig Tree Pocket with her husband and two daughters.
Barbara experimented with Yoga (Hatha Yoga) in her teens and continued to participate in weekly classes in Australia for years. She tried Yoga Chi Gung in 1999 for the first time and came to "just love it". Barbara did her teacher training course with Grant Woolven in 2003 and has been teaching Yoga Chi Gung classes in the Western Suburbs since 2004.
Barbara has been drawn to Yoga Chi Gung because of its body friendly approach and its powerful energetic effect on the body and mind.
Apart from teaching Yoga Chi Gung, Barbara also works in the family printing business. She has training in Neuro-lymphatic and Ayuvedic Oil Massage and Reiki One and Two. In March 2005 Barbara participated in a 21 day intensive course at the Oneness University in South India to become a Oneness Blessing Giver (energy transfer). In September 2007 Barbara attended the 10 day deepening course at the Oneness University.
In May 2009 Barbara participated in Pranashakty's Body of Light" retreat and was initiated as a Jothi Blessing Giver. In December that year she attended a four day workshop in Zen Thai Shiatsu massage with Gwyn Williams. Since gaining her registration as a Yoga Chi Gung teacher, Barbara has continued to attend classes and workshops of Grant Woolven and she has explored other styles of Yoga.
With Lynette, a Yoga Chi Gung teacher from Harvey Bay, Barbara runs Yoga retreats up the Sunshine Coast. (more)
