Originally built in 1935, what began as a traditional country pub, has evolved into an elegant, 4 star boutique hotel. Featuring 40 accommodation rooms, the property offers a number of room types from traditional hotel rooms to self contained villas each of which is beautifully presented with timeless country grandeur and charm.

Elegant public spaces have been thoughtfully refurbished by renowned Interior Designer Stuart Rattle. Unique one-off pieces such as plush wing-back chairs in the guest lounge and a clever rolling-pin legged oak table in The Argus Dining Room complement the property's polished wooden furniture and fittings, marble fireplaces, parchment lighting and leather details that enhance the original features of the hotel.

The hotel is surrounded by picturesque gardens; most spectacular are the formal Italian gardens, complete with a manicured miniature hedge maze, providing a spectacular backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
