The Bowen Technique

Bowen Therapy is a remarkable hands-on remedial therapy that has been around for many years, introduced to the world by an amazing gentleman by the name of Thomas Ambrose Bowen; and is really like no other therapy!

It is gentle, non invasive and possesses the amazing yet simple capacity to initiate the required therapeutic actions from within the body by focusing upon the actual cause not just the relating symptoms.

Bowen consists of a sequence of extremely specific yet GENTLE moves that travel across tendons, muscles, organs and fascia throughout the body.

These moves aim to disturb the muscles and energy pathways within the recipient�s body sending ripples across the nervous system, travelling throughout the body stimulating the process of making the required adjustments that help to re-balance, relieve tension and reduce pain.

Natural Therapies for Animals

Animals are natural athletes and as such they are active, energetic, instinctual and very perceptive. Because they are so active in their daily lives, it can be very easy for them to injure themselves and due to their survival instinct, very often not show that they are hurt or have a problem.

This can result in additional difficulties due to the factor that an unaddressed injury may lead to a further breakdown somewhere else in the body. Some untreated injuries can sometimes result in problematic long-term concerns such as behavioural issues.

With the gentle therapeutic treatments specifically intended and designed for animals such as dogs, cats and horses, the overall results demonstrate that their responses are extremely positive.

In fact, one system that this therapy addresses is through the nervous system, which can quickly calm a nervous or distressed animal, and allows the recipient to go into a gentle relaxed state, which assists them on their journey to recovery.

The other non invasive therapies that are provided at Ambience, such as Bush Essences and Reiki, are totally about accessing the body's natural healing processes by working with the body and its systems and not against it.

You definitely do not need to cause additional pain and stress when assisting a client to return to balance and well being. In fact, it is better for the client, be they 2 legged or 4, when the actions are gentle and rhythmic, as there is no need for instinctual responses of protection and defence, only a desire for rest and relaxation.
