Complete amateurs there. They installed new front brakes on my car but upon driving it the car had trouble stopping. Clearly something was wrong, but I gave it some time for the new brakes to wear in. Meanwhile, the rubber pad on the brake pedal suddenly fell off; I found a pen in the engine bay and finally the exhaust pipe began to rattle the day I got it back from them. The car was in worse shape than when I initially took it in. Finally I found the time to take the car back and they rechecked the brakes and the other problem areas. Once it was ready I got in the car and discovered that the air con was on though it wasn’t on when I drove it in, the seat was pushed all the way back, and the mirrors had been adjusted. Okay, not a problem, sometimes little things like that get fiddled with. But when I was driving home I noticed the ceiling light was on. It certainly wasn’t on when I left in the morning, so I reached for the small lever on the dashboard to turn it off, only to discover that the lever was missing. It had been completely snapped off. I called Brumac and told them the situation, and the woman on the phone said it couldn’t be their fault. I told her that the light was not on when I drove the car to them in the morning (neither was the air con), and that the lever was there, and now it was gone. My car had been in their workshop all day. I suggested that the mechanic may have accidentally knocked it. The woman’s attitude was that I was making everything up and that they did me a favour by rechecking the brakes (even though I’d nearly had an accident a couple of days before because the brakes still weren’t working properly) and she basically told me off and said it wasn’t their problem. Absolutely dreadful, shockingly inept service. I’ll be talking to the owner of Brumac about all these.
