KATS Automotive Services

About

Owners Kay and Terry have operated businesses within the local area since 1996. They have always worked on the theory of performing most task in house including air conditioning, disc brake lathe machining, electrical and EFI diagnostics and wheel alignments to name a few. All the materials used at KATS are sourced locally wherever possible.

In 1996 Kay took over a service station business with a workshop which she ran for 6 years. This was quite unusual for a woman then.

In 2002 Kay and her partner Terry envisaged having a mechanical workshop that was up to date but more personal than a large dealership, with a more personal local feel to it. With this vision in mind they opened KATS Automotive at East Brisbane April 2002.

When the need for more space and parking arose KATS was relocated to Coorparoo. This proved to be a great move for the business.

Once a well established and well recognised business was developed the stakeholders/owners decided to procure their own premises to operate from. Consulting with their financial and real estate contacts the current premises of 50 Caswell Street East Brisbane was purchased creating stability for the business and staff.

KATS is in the automotive service and repair industry.

The technology used in motor vehicles is changing on a daily basis and sometimes in a major way. The fuels used to propel vehicles is constantly being reassessed and changed to comply with environmental and economical factors. So as a business in this industry we need to keep afoot of these changes so we are required to train and develop to enable us to stay in business and do it well, as well as our competitors or better than them so as to service our clients needs in the best way possible.

We source the best technical staff and keep then well trained.
