Street Smart Energy helps customers save money on their electricity and gas through Group Buying and Energy Broking.

Group Buying

Against a backdrop of rising energy costs, Street Smart Energy was formed to help customers save money on their electricity and gas through the power of group buying. We create buying pools for residential customers, businesses and corporations so that together we are all able to secure lower electricity and gas rates from the major retailers.

We use our collective buying power on your behalf. With a combined energy spend of millions of dollars - instead of individual totals; we negotiate with the energy retailers to provide lower electricity and gas rates to you.

While Street Smart Energy negotiates the deal on your behalf, we don't actually supply the electricity to you; you will continue to have a contract with one of Australia's major energy retailers.

Street Smart Energy has multiple buying pools running at any one time. Each will attract different rates depending on the number of people who join and their demographics.

Energy Broking

Street Smart Energy also has options for customers who do not wish to join a buying pool. Our day to day brokering service provides access to rates through our relationships with the retailers.

We can review your current rates and supply costs and determine whether savings can be achieved through an alternative provider.

What happens after I register?

One of our friendly consultants will call you at a suitable time to discuss your options.

If you are interested in Group Buying they will let you know what buying pools we currently have and which would be the most suitable for you.

If you would prefer our Energy Broking model we can conduct a comparison against your current rates and let you know whether a saving can be achieved through an alternative provider.

If you choose to go ahead we will collect your details and arrange for a Welcome Pack to be sent to you from your new supplier. This pack will contain your Electricity and/or Gas Agreement consisting of Customer Charter, Product Terms & Conditions and Product Schedules.

There is no need to contact your current provider and cancel your existing supply. This is all taken care of for you and there will be no interruption to your service.

Residential customers have a ten business day cooling off period which starts when you receive the Welcome Pack. For Businesses the cooling off period may vary depending on the agreement.

The Street Smart Energy service is free. We receive commissions from the energy retailers which enables us to sign you up for no cost.
