Justine has over 20 years Human Resource, Industrial Relations and Business experience in a number of different industries. She commenced her career in larger, more complex organisations and later specialised in the SME arena in both Melbourne and Adelaide.

Justine commenced her own HR Consulting practice in 2000, re-branding as Essential HR in 2013. Initially, offering HR Consulting Services, Justine recognised the struggle SME have in engaging highly experienced and qualified HR resources internally. Although SME's need expert HR advice and support, realistically they don't need it on a full-time basis and cannot afford to hire resources at the level required.

SME's, instead, utilise other resources in their business to manage the payroll and HR requirements. Such resources often hold administration roles and have no formal training and qualifications or experience in payroll and HR.

As a result, business owners and operators spend their working days dealing with HR issues, "putting out fires", rather than focusing on growing their business. They are often left exposed to poor HR systems, strategies and practice, as well as non-compliance issues.

With this predicament at the forefront of her mind, Justine joined forces with Rachael Turner, Director of Lucent Financial (outsourcing accounting and financial services), to offer expert HR and Payroll managed services to SME. Rachael and Justine share the same Vision: Make available to SME the same level of expert and specialist resources, and technology as large organisations, at an affordable price.

Operating from the same office, Essential HR and Lucent Financial have grown in size, a testament that their business model has filled a much needed gap in the SME market. Together, Justine and Rachael, and their dedicated team members, have taken over a 100 Australian Businesses on a journey to change the "landscape" of their business.
