What is My Local Foodie?

My Local Foodie is a 100% Australian company specialising in helping food businesses become more profitable by reducing buying costs and accurate menu and recipe costing.

To achieve this we own and operate the My Local Foodie Buying Group and Cost-i-mator - the Ultimate Software for Chef's.

The My Local Foodie Difference

The My Local Foodie Difference and the key to amplifying our results for clients is the leveraged power of controlling both the Buying Group and Cost-i-mator software.

Our business is very simple; clients buy all produce through My Local Foodie Buying Group suppliers and save money through our discounted rates. Then clients cost their menus using the Cost-i-mator to engineer a menu that works every time. All ingredients, recipes and menus are automatically re-costed every day so menu costs are always up to date and accurate.

Client benefit from improved systems, reduced administration costs, quality control, full compliance and stronger supplier relationships; allowing Chef's and their teams to focus on what they do best creating great meals with quality ingredients from properly costed recipes.

We are 100% independent and live to source quality ingredients at the best prices. We are foodie lifers and our aim is to help our clients turn quality ingredients into precisely cost successful menus.

My Local Foodie's old school buying group powered by the latest in software innovation makes running any food business easier and more profitable.

The My Local Foodie Buying Group is made up of over 65 National Suppliers that have been carefully selected to provide our clients with exceptional products and service at the lowest possible price.

The My Local Foodie Buying Group covers all products categories and work very closely with suppliers to ensure they deliver all orders to clients on time and in full every time. Most of our suppliers are local; family owned and operated businesses with the most experience people in the industry involved in the day to day service and supply.

The buying group sources the quality products at the best prices and wherever possible aims to source produce direct from the farm, factory or importer as part of our Paddock to Plate, Factory Direct and Importer Direct programs.

The Cost-i-mator is My Local Foodie's own specially designed Menu Costing Software. It is simple to use and chef focused; making building fully costed recipes and menus a breeze. It is GST compliant and has been built and coded to suit Australian and New Zealand retail food businesses conditions.

The Cost-i-mator is the ultimate software for chefs comprising an online ordering facility, stocktake and reporting functions with recipe costing and menu building tools.

The Cost-i-mator works as the buying portal for the My Local Foodie Buying Group and provides an easy to use system for clients to place and manage orders online through My Local Foodie preferred suppliers.

The stock take functions have been designed to streamline the process and provide fast accurate reporting and reflect real time opening and closing stock totals.

Advanced reporting functions allow clients to access monthly/quarterly/annual purchase summary reports from suppliers, menu statistic reporting and many other reporting options.

Where retail food businesses often come undone is in their recipe and menu costings. The Cost-i-mator takes the guesswork out of food costing to provide owners and managers with greater insight into food budgeting and allow chefs to achieve a better understanding of recipe costing and menu building.

As product pricing changes so too does the cost of recipes; the Cost-i-mator atomically reflects any pricing change into recipes and menus so you can be confident your costings are always accurate.
