Emmaus Catholic Primary School

About

Commencing a new Catholic Primary School is an enormous privilege and responsibility and all of us one associated with Emmaus Catholic Primary School feel this sense of pride and responsibility very strongly. With the commencement of Emmaus, the newest Catholic Primary School in Ballarat for close to twenty years, has come a genuine passion for a futures oriented mode of education for the children in the broader Mt Clear, Mt Helen and Buninyong communities.

On January 30th 2008 twenty one delightful children started school at Emmaus on our temporary site in Jones Ave, Mt Clear. Immediately our school felt very much like a vibrant place of learning. In 2009 we began the school year with 69 students, 37 of whom were new to Emmaus.

Now in 2015, with 330 children, all goes well for our flourishing school and community. The relationships developed between our delightful students, committed parent community and truly dedicated staff team provided clear indication that Emmaus is a school that will continue to be known in the Mt Clear, Mt Helen, and Buninyong communities as a dynamic, welcoming and caring place of learning.

The pathway to opening our school has been both exciting and at times challenging! There have been many hurdles to be overcome and yet throughout a dedicated and incredibly committed team of staff, parents and children have never lost faith that Emmaus Catholic Primary School will become an exemplar of modern education for the Ballarat Diocese. We look forward to our next steps on what has been a wonderful journey to date!
