About
Sowing Music is a Brisbane-based private music studio found by Hilaria Yeung who is a registered music therapist, music educator and pianist. We aim to provide quality music therapy & music tuition services to people of all ages, backgrounds & abilities.
[MISSION]
Sowing the seeds of music into people we serve to enrich their growth and quality of lives.
[SERVICES]
1. MUSIC & MOVEMENT PROGRAMS (2-5 YRS):
For toddlers (2.5-3 years) and preschoolers (4-5 years). The program is designed by a registered music therapist combining music therapy and music education to develop music learning (pitch, rhythm, music signs reading/writing & music appreciation), stimulate children's development (early literacy, numeracy, oral language, fine and gross motor skills, social skills, creativity & self-expression), and encourage school-readiness.
2. INDIVIDUAL PIANO LESSONS:
For people of all ages and levels; for leisure or exam preparation (AMEB/ABRSM). Sowing Music Studio understands the importance of seeing every student as a unique individual. We use a holistic and student-centered teaching approach to meet every student’s needs, music preference and learning style. Apart from piano playing techniques, we also emphasize on developing students' musicality to help students become a true musician other than just a piano player!
3. MUSIC THERAPY PROGRAMS:
For children and adults with special needs and disabilities. Music therapy is an evidence based allied-health profession in which music is used by a registered music therapist to achieve therapeutic goals - including socialisation, communication (verbal/nonverbal), physical, motor and cognitive skills, relaxation, self-expression, self-esteem, etc. These goals can be addressed through music therapy interventions such as singing, instrument playing, improvisation, movement to music, receptive music listening, song writing, lyric discussion, etc.
