Medicare Local drive improvements in primary health care and ensure that services are better tailored to meet the needs of local communities. They do not act as Medicare offices and do not just deal with organisations or health professionals that provide Medicare funded services. They aim to help improve the integration of all primary health (community based, first point of call) care.
