Dr Terrence Ong

About

Dr Terrence Ong is an ophthalmologist who specialises in the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the anterior segment of the eye including cataract surgery, corneal transplants, laser refractive surgery and pterygium surgery.

Dr Ong obtained his medical degree from The University of Melbourne and was included in the Dean�s Honours List. He subsequently completed his specialist training in ophthalmology at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

He then completed post fellowship training in Cataract, Corneal and Refractive surgery, initially in Cambridge (UK), and following that at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London (UK).

Currently, Dr Ong is a consultant ophthalmologist for the Corneal Clinic at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, where he is involved with registrar teaching and also training of international ophthalmology trainees. He was on the Board of Examiners of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

He has given presentations at scientific conferences in Australia and overseas, and has also published in scientific journals. He is a member of the Australia and New Zealand Cornea Society.
