Welcome to the Bunbury Osteopathic Clinic

The Bunbury Osteopathic Clinic has been servicing the manual health care needs of Bunbury and surrounds for over twenty years and is very much a family orientated practice.

We are particularly interested in finding the underlying causes of mechanical problems with an aim to providing long term solutions for each patient. From the young and athletic to the elderly and less mobile, due to the gentle nature of osteopathic treatment, osteopathy can provide a treatment to suit you.

Pro-active Osteopathy. Osteopathy at itâ€TMs best.

Here at the Bunbury Osteopathic Clinic we practice what we call Pro-active Osteopathy.

Pro-active healthcare is designed to provide much better outcomes for patients, both in the short term and in the long term.

As well as providing hands on treatment, we also teach patients how they can help themselves. This not only provides better results, it also empowers patients by giving them back a measure of control over their own health.

Whether you are new to osteopathy or whether you have visited an osteopath before, we will show you how to get better faster and stay better for longer.

David Meek of the Bunbury Osteopathic Clinic has over twenty two years of experience, most of it spent treating the people of Bunbury and surrounding districts. As a government registered osteopath, David is trained to diagnose and treat musculo-skeletal problems ranging from headache and low back pain, knee dysfunction and carpal tunnel syndrome and shoulder and foot pain.

Gentle hands on treatment can be used for all ages of patients and is effective in treating patients ranging from rehabilitating athletes to elderly patients.

Osteopathy at it's best!

Can An Osteopath Help Me?

Because it is so common, spinal pain accounts for more than half the workload of the registered osteopath. However, many other conditions affect the mechanics of the body and the following are conditions commonly treated by an osteopath.

Sports injuries, joint pain (including arthritis), headache, migraine, sciatica, repetitive strain injuries, joint stiffness and many other conditions not usually associated with the mechanics of the musculoskeletal system.

How do Osteopaths Treat Their Patients?

The osteopath treats his patients with his hands. The muscles and joints are examined carefully and the appropriate treatment might include massaging and stretching techniques and gentle manipulation of the joints, especially those of the spinal column.

Osteopaths usually work on a â€~half hour listâ€TM. That means plenty of time to get to the root of a patientâ€TMs problem, not just treating the symptoms.

Long term solutions

Osteopathic treatment is designed to find long term solutions to problems, not just a quick fix it. Patients are shown how to manage their problems with specific stretches and what we call focused relaxation techniques which help the body to help itself.

Bad posture is very often a major part of peoples problems and an important part of treatment therapy is to teach people simple techniques for sitting and standing better. Patients are shown how to manage especially if they sit for a living.

Osteopaths in the Community
Because of the extensive training that osteopaths receive, they are well qualified to advise patients on a wide range of health and health related topics including diet, stress management, posture, exercise and lifting techniques.
