Ask about their training, whether they are registered or a member of a professional association, and which approaches they use. Check how sessions are run, whether in person or online, and what to expect at a first appointment. Ask about fees, rebates you may be eligible for and how cancellations are handled. Fit matters as much as credentials, so it is reasonable to try a first session and change practitioners if it does not feel right.
