Kat's Speech Pathology provides Speech Pathology services for children 0-10 years of age with language delays, articulation delays, phonological awareness and literacy difficulties and stuttering.

Kat Hewson-Bower provides a supportive, friendly environment with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those she works with. The practice philosophy is to provide effective, up-to-date therapy in a way that is enjoyable for children, to support clients in developing their skills up to their full potential.

After graduating from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Human Communication Science), Kat has worked in private practice both internationally and in Australia. Working overseas has led to a broad range of competencies working with families of many different cultural backgrounds. Kat is trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches upon which she draws to determine the most effective individualised therapy program. While working with children and their families, she considers all aspects of a child’s development and liaises closely with other professionals involved in order to ensure the best decisions are made for the child’s overall wellbeing and happiness.

Kat is particularly passionate about early intervention as a powerful means of making a long-term difference in children’s development and growth, not only in speech and language but also in relation to self-esteem, social skills and academic success.
