King Street Veterinary Hospital is nestled in the heart of Murwillumbah, & has been serving the Tweed community over the last two decades or more. We primarily treat small companion animals such as dogs, cats, birds, rodents, rabbits, ferrets & reptiles. We are dedicated to providing a high quality veterinary service for a fair price. Our goal is to be the best small companion animal veterinary service in the Tweed Valley.

We provide services such as Consultations, Surgery, Dentistry, Preventative Medicine (i.e. vaccinations, parasite control, de-sexing), Alternative and Natural Medicine, Acupuncture, Pet Grooming, Puppy Preschool, Medical Imaging (x-ray & ultrasound), Nutritional Advice, Behavioural Advice, In-house & External Pathology, Micro-chipping, & Wildlife Treatment to name a few.

We are associated with various local community organisations such as Tweed Shire Council Pound, Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers, Murwillumbah TAFE, & Story Dogs. We will admit & treat any injured wildlife, & aim to give the very best care to these little critters. We work closely with Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers & Currumbin Sanctuary Wildlife Hospital to ensure appropriate & timely treatment is performed effectively, with the aim to re-release healthy native fauna back into the environment from which they came.

Dr Samantha Bicknell is a qualified Veterinary Acupuncturist, adding an excellent adjunctive or alternative approach to treating your pet.

Samantha is also available for Natural & Alternative Medicine consultation, giving a more holistic approach for appropriate cases. Basic massage can be shown to owners to perform on their' pets by Dr Julie Charest.

Nutritional advice is available for your pet for any life stage or for any medical condition where dietary management is necessary. Our nurses can give nutritional advice for any overweight pets, that may need some help shedding those extra grams to kilograms. 'Calorie Counters' is our pet weight loss program, after having a consult with one of our trained nurses, with an appropriate weight loss diet & regular weigh-ins we can get your furry friend back to optimum body condition within a 3 month period (in almost all cases).
We have a functional In-house Pathology Service giving rapid results for wide range of blood, urine, fecal, dermatological & ophthalmic tests. We can sample lumps & bumps to get a clearer picture of whether we are dealing with a benign or malignant mass, or a more inflammatory type of lesion (most cases). If we cannot perform the test in-house or need a second opinion, we can send samples to external Pathology Laboratories to be looked at by Qualified Veterinary Pathologists.

We perform most soft tissue surgery (anything other than bone), & also some routine orthopaedic procedures such as cranial cruciate ligament repair within the practice. More difficult orthopaedic procedures may be performed at King St Vets by Dr Sue Gibbons, a Brisbane based Specialist Veterinary Surgeon who visits us regularly for the more challenging surgeries. We also work closely with other Veterinary Specialists ( e.g. VSS at Carrara) for challenging spinal, orthopaedic & soft tissue cases.

Sue Howarth runs Puppy Preschool classes every 6 weeks, they are made up of 4 classes, where all of the basics of puppy health, behaviour & basic training are covered. Probably the most important aspect of these classes is the socialisation of your new pup with other puppies and humans. It also helps to make the vet clinic a more fun place to come to for future visits.
We perform x-rays & ultrasound within the clinic.
Preventative & more challenging dentistry procedures are performed routinely with a high level of care.

Hayes & Casey run the pet grooming service at King St Vets, both experienced pet groomers to keep your' canine & feline friends looking and feeling their best.

Bookings can be made for either Tuesday or Thursdays by calling us during work hours.
