About

Melbourne's Garbage Chute Cleaning & Chute Clearance Experts

When building residents discard of their garbage into a garbage chute, bags have a tendency to open or rip during the journey to the garbage room. Any wet garbage will stick to the walls and compactor and dry garbage will stick to the wet garbage.

Garbage chutes have an occurring up draft. This causes unhealthy odours and bacteria from inside the chute walls to become airborne. These airborne odours then enter public areas as residents open the chute doors and dispose of their garbage, or alternatively enter the fresh air supply of roof top air-conditioning systems.

Cleaning of your chute is not only proving your commitment to providing a clean and safe building in terms of germs but also greatly stops the risk of a fire generating from the garbage chute room and travelling up the chute to each floor. A regular occurrence.

The benefits of having your garbage chute cleaned:

• Reducing risk of fire

• Removal of odour

• Reducing rodent and insect problems

• Reducing health risks for tenants and staff

• Removal of bacteria, viruses and build-up of garbage

• Increasing longevity of chute, compactor and bin room

• Identifying maintenance and possible blockage issues

The process:

• Post notices on each chute door advising of upcoming works

• Inspect, clean and lubricate all chute doors on each floor

• Degrease the inside of the chute top through to and including bin room.

• We send our garbage chute cleaner equipment up/down the chute with high pressure water to dislodge contaminates and disinfectant and sanitise.

• Hand scrape, clean and disinfect garbage build up in compactor

Garbage chute cleaning should be conducted at least annually depending on the amount of residents using the chute.
