Lameness Evaluation

Providing the most accurate lameness localisation possible starts by performing a systematic examination. Our systematic exam is designed to obtain as much information as possible about the lameness and the location/s of pain. This is done through detailed history taking, gait evaluation performed on different surfaces, in a straight line and on a lunge, flexion testing, and performing nerve, joint or intralesional blocks. The information obtained is then used to direct the location of X-Rays, Ultrasound, CT, Etc. The high quality images obtained using these technologies will likely give us a definitive diagnosis. Now, with a diagnosis based on information, the most effective treatments and therapies can be directed to the source of pain allowing the quickest return to soundness possible.
