AKD is 100 per cent Australian-owned and has a processing capacity of 400,000 cubic metres of sawlog per annum, some of which is harvested from 6000 hectares of company owned and managed land, with the remainder sourced from plantations in the south-west region of Victoria.

The company�s primary manufacturing site is based in Colac � the heart of one of Australia�s most important sustainable timber production regions, with other sites located in Heywood and Geelong.

Established in 1955 as Associated Kiln Driers Pty Ltd, trading as AKD Softwoods the company expanded into sawmilling by the mid 1960�s producing superior product from renewable, plantation-grown Radiata Pine � a practice that still continues today.
