The Dorper is a fertile, high yielding breed which was originally imported from South Africa.

They are ideally suited to Australia?s tough conditions.

The Dorper sheep breed was created by crossing Black Headed Persian ewes (from Somalia) with Horned Dorsets.

The result is a breed that is drought resistant and thrives in adverse conditions.

Because they shed their wool, they do not require shearing or crunching, and are blow fly strike resistant.

Lambing occurs three times every two years on average. Lambs often start grazing a few days after birth, and have a high survival rate.
