Founded by pioneering Australian obstetrician, Dr Catherine Hamlin and her late husband Dr Reg Hamlin, Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia provides free treatment for women who have suffered a horrific childbirth injury - obstetric fistula. Patients receive holistic care, including surgery, physiotherapy and counselling. In addition, we work to prevent this terrible injury by training midwives at the Hamlin College of Midwives and deploying them to rural clinics. The Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation, based in Australia, supports this important work. Dr Hamlin's dream is to eradicate fistula forever.
