Julian Morgan-Smith

About

As a recent graduate of the highly acclaimed Australasian School of Piano Technology (ASPT), Julian Morgan-Smith is a fully qualified piano technician who brings a fresh set of skills and expertise to a traditional industry. The ASPT is operated and taught by renowned concert technician Brent Ottley who has introduced a government and industry recognised qualification to raise the standard of piano craftsmanship in Australia.

Piano technicians differ from piano tuners in that technicians offer an additional set of skills: regulation, voicing, repair and restoration. Recent innovations in piano technology such as Yamaha's Disklavier system means the modern day technician needs to be proficient in combining the traditional craft of piano tuning with the challenges of 21st century technology.

Julian has a deep respect and thorough understanding of the traditional aspects of piano tuning and maintenance; he combines this with a fresh perspective and the latest industry information and techniques. To maximise the potential of your instrument whilst obtaining the best possible sound, contact Julian today.
