About

Model Success was founded by professional model Joanna Sherwell, who from the age of 15 worked throughout Australia as a photographic and runway model before beginning intensive study into human behaviour. While modelling Joanna was struck by the lack of support where models could access information, advice and training, in an industry that so desperately needed it! She identified a need for more success and health consciousness in the fashion industry, as well as more training on how to actually do well in the field with the right mindset and health systems in place.

After studying and modelling for several years, Joanna is now qualified in many fields of behavioural sciences as well as a qualified and experienced youth educator in Melbourne, Australia. Her past work in community services includes program design and facilitation with disadvantaged youth and young women, job skills and work readiness program facilitation, pathways/careers officer for young people, dual diagnosis counselling (drug/alcohol and mental health), curriculum developer for Swinburne University, Her understanding of human dynamics coupled with previous employment in these roles and private practice as a life coach, have given Joanna the ability to connect and empathise with her clients resulting in life changing results and a new found zest for life.

Our Philosophy

Model Success products and services are a holistic exploration of model industry practice and safety, health and fitness, freelance and agency modelling, goal setting and personal organisation, self esteem and body image, finance and time management, as well as focusing on how to use the creative industries as a stepping stone to other goals and dreams in life.

Why? Because unfortunately the fashion industry is perceived as a field where young people may develop unhealthy self image, disordered eating habits, a superficial view of career goals, or become victims of 'scams'. We believe this is quite the opposite of what modelling SHOULD and can do for young people- create strong self esteem / confidence, an educated and healthy approach to eating / exercise, financial management skills which set them up for their future, and an entrepreneurial 'I make things happen for myself!' attitude to life. We are not about pushing people into this industry if it's not right for them, we're about helping those passionate about expressing their talent and skills find their unique path to achieve their dreams.

Model Success also provides motivational talks and youth development programs for schools and community groups throughout Melbourne, on the importance of health, self esteem, personal presentation, body image, and understanding of goal achievement in life.
