You should visit our optometrist, Rowan Prendergast, at OPSM Waurn Ponds if:

* You can't see clearly.

* When you can't see well in the distance.

* When you have difficulty reading.

* When you have vision related problems.

* When it's been more than two years since your last eye test.

* You have recently experienced double vision.

* You confuse colours.

* You fail your vision test when renewing your driver's license.

* You can no longer read properly even with reading glasses on.

* You experience glare in normal lighting levels.

* Your eyesight at night is poor.

A Digital Retinal Scan is a scan that produces a picture and helps your optometrist detect and manage potential sight and health-threatening diseases such as glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension and macular degeneration. You can get a Digital Retinal Scan when you have your Standard Eye Test.

The photograph shows the current health of your retina, optic nerve and blood vessels. When a recent image is compared with previous images, a subtle change in appearance allows the early detection of diseases and allows us to better monitor your eye health over time.

We recommend you have a Digital Retinal Scan, with your Standard Eye Test every year to help us better monitor your eye health.

Digital Retinal Scans are available at a small additional cost to a Standard Eye Test (although if you are a member of a health fund they may cover this).
