Product Selection

A lot of our business comes from our products being specified so please don’t think you have to go through an intricate design process just to buy one of our amazing lights. If you already know what you want and/or require pricing for a project then please call, email or visit us.

If you’re looking for lighting and technical advice to help you finalise your lighting schedule for your project then please email us your plans and we will assist you in whatever way we can. It’s always good to have seen our products in the flesh and working before finalising your schedule, our beautiful display is open 7 days a week and we’d be more than happy to have a coffee and go over everything with you.

Lighting Design

1. Let’s talk:

In order for us to provide you with well considered recommendations it is important for us to get to know one another, projects plans are just the beginning. We do this in many ways, whether it is at our display (which is preferred), over the phone, through a written brief, or even a Skype call. This is an hour session and will help us decide whether or not we will be a good fit.

2. Site-visit:

To get a feel for the project and what you’re hoping to achieve it’s always good to do a site visit – if there is a site to look at that is.

3. Proposal Stage:

Once we know a bit more about each other and the project, we will be able to prepare a proposal document which will outline our understanding of the project requirements, as well as providing an estimated fee and time frame for the required work.

4. Conception:

Once the proposal has been approved we will access our global network of lighting designers – or as we like to call them, illuminated thinkers – to make creative recommendations, draw up sketches, create renderings, electrical layouts, product schedules and anything required to achieve our proposals objective. Our recommendations will be project specific and will be influenced by specific project requirements.

5. Meeting the Team:

Our work is based on collaboration and knowledge building so we insist upon meeting with all relevant parties involved with your project. This includes – but is not limited to – the architect, builder, electrician, interior designer and project manager.

6. Design Presentation:

This is where we re-group and show you what we’ve been working so hard on. We’ll take you through our thinking, lighting plans, product specifications and all other relevant materials.

7. Revising the design:

We understand that we may need to tweak our designs and product choices, especially when it comes to an industry as complex and exciting as lighting. Once we have made the required changes we revisit the presentation stage until all parties involved are happy.

8. Installation:

Once the design concept has been approved we will finalise payments of all required products and implement our recommendations in whichever way necessary. By this stage we would hope to have met with the installing electrician and gone over any special requirements which may be needed – such as dimming. We also have our own team of electricians who we’d be happy to introduce you to.

9. Maintenance:

All Neue products have a standard five year warranty. Design maintenance is provided over the life of the products as a separate service.
